The past week has been a little stressful. Prepping for travels and at the same time getting some client work in last minute. But the fun part was a workshop event on Thursday:
Nomad Meetup & Bitcoin Workshop
It’s a tiny world when a guy you met in Berlin about two years ago, then in Spain, and then on a cruise ship across the Atlantic ocean comes is invited to your hometown to give a talk. But that’s the world we are living in. Very connected, and definitely smaller for it. A tiny planet so to say.
The talks topic was Bitcoins. And that’s definitely a hot topic right now. I thought I already knew a lot, but I had no idea how much there is to know about the whole new world of cryptocurrencies, but Diego made it really easy to understand. And then on Friday, there was a 30% increase in the bitcoin value - a crazy world.
Meetings like this show me how connecting with all kinds of people is super valuable, Interesting, and fun.
Learning about Projects
I also learned about Einstein1 at that meet-up. I saw some plans for it at the university where I studied recently. But now I have a real connection to it. They are building a founders center right next to the university. Inviting students as well as others in the area to teach about creating companies, talking about ideas, and brainstorming together. All that in a space with room for offices, cowering, and space for relaxation as well. I would have loved to have something like this when I was still studying. Having this kinda space for a community is absolutely invaluable. Having it close to the university makes it even better! Now I am a little jealous and would almost go back to study there.
Exciting Times Ahead: Las Palmas, Gran Canary
Now the big change that kept me awake last week. I am traveling again. I am packing my bags and moving onto the road again. For now, I only have plans till the end of November, but that’s enough for now. I’d like to keep it at least a little spontaneous.
For the next few months, my posts will be written from all kinds of locations: First, I’ll be in Las Palmas, Gran Canary followed by the NomadCruise across the Atlantic arriving in Panama. From there I have to get to Chiang Mai, Thailand by the end of 25th of October.
All this time on the road. It’s good. It’s fun. But it doesn’t come without struggles as well. And I think those will be part of some posts in the future. One of the biggest: I will be offline for sometimes. Notably on the cruise ship. That in itself is very nice, but running an online business, it’s also a big struggle to work around these offline times.
I hope you have some exciting things ahead as well. The year isn’t over yet. So much time to still do some big changes! So let me know: what are you going for?
